nerve pain after surgery

Hi I am definitely frustrated I had my lap endo surgery 7 weeks ago. I am dealing with such pain in my right pelvis that radiates to my leg which I never had before the surgery. My Dr said it only showed stage 1 endometriosis and he removed the cyst in my fallopian tube. He is not sure why would I have pain after the surgery. I am so frustrated with his answer and just wish I never had the surgery. Is there Anybody dealing with same issue? thanks so much.

  1. Although many doctors will tell you that a lap is no big deal, it can be a big deal for a lot of folks and it can take a while to feel back to yourself. Sometimes scar tissue can aggravate nerves and cause issues. I dealt with pain for quite a bit after my surgeries. But I will also tell you that I had endometriomas return within two months of having ablation surgery. Did you have ablation or excision? If the pain persists, ask for an ultrasound to see if another cyst has grown. Which ovary/tube was removed? ~Katrina, Endometriosis.net Advocate

    1. It was only a small cyst in the fallopian tube where Im getting pain now that radiates down to my leg. I have asked him if I can get some testing done and he said I dont need it. I had the excision. Did you have the same thing the sciatica pain after the surgery? I hear about pelvic floor PT they said it could help.

      1. ouch. I am so sorry you hare dealing with pain. If I am being honest, I too have experienced a lot of pain after surgery. For me, it is almost like adhesions grow very quickly after my surgeries. And adhesions can cause such great pain. Also, this had nothing to do with surgery but I did end up getting a hernia which caused so much pain that radiated down my leg too and did not stop until it was removed. There can be so many reasons why you are feeling pain, even maybe the cyst has come back already. Pelvic Floor PT did help with some of my pain. I wouldn't say 100% for me, but I also had a lot of other things going on that I feel needed to be addressed before really focusing on PT. So it is definitely worth trying for you. And also, if this doctor is not listening to your concerns to run scans or look into why you are dealing with this pain, I would definitely push to look for another opinion if at all possible. Hoping you do get some answers and relief. Sending good thoughts your way. -Kimberli (advocate)

    2. Kimberli sorry to hear that you developed hernia after. I wish I never had the surgery I feel like I'm just dealing with more issues rather getting the benefits of the surgery.
