Endo Surgery Recovery
Hi, I would love to hear from anyone who has undergone endo surgery.
My sister recently had a laparoscopy for stage 4 endometriosis, as well as adenomyosis. In addition to this, she also got the coil fitted at the same time.
She is 3 weeks post op and is still experiencing quite severe pain, both in the incisions and period-like pain. Her surgeon said this shouldn’t be the case and that it is unusual.
As expected, this has left her feeling very worried and (once again in the endo journey) dismissed.
For anyone who has had the surgery:
Is there any reassurance you can give here? Maybe share your experience of recovery and whether you were still in struggling with the pain 3 weeks on.
I really want to show her that there are others who are going/ have gone through the same thing and that she is not alone. I hope to find community here to reassure her that everyone’s healing process is different.

, I'm so sorry to hear that your sister is still suffering with severe pain. I can imagine how disappointing this must feel for her. It's so frustrating to hear that the doctor let her leave with no answers! I had a similar fear after my own surgery. Recovery can feel so unpredictable and I remember getting worried when my pain wasn’t settling as quickly as I expected. At around 3 weeks I was still dealing with discomfort too. It’s really hard when u already feel dismissed through this whole journey 🙁 Hope your sister feels a little better soon and gets the support she needs!
