amitriptyline for endometriosis

Has anyone used Amitriptyline to manage the pain from endometriosis. My girlfriend has been recommended if by her GP, and we are both doing some research on it.

  1. Hey , I think it's wise of you both to do research before she starts taking medications. There's power in being educated and being able to self advocate in the doctor's office. I don't have personal experience with this medication, however I found this story written by one of our members who has tried it and seems to have had a positive experience: https://endometriosis.net/uncategorized/medication-options
Feel free to post a comment under the story to see if the author or other members are able to give you more advice. Hopefully someone can chime in here as well with some experience. Best of luck in your research! Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  2. I haven't taken Amitriptyline myself, but I've seen mixed experiences from people with endo. Some say it helped with chronic pain and sleep, while others found the drowsiness hard to deal with. It might be worth trying if her GP recommends it, but everyone's experience seems to be different. 💛
