Period cycle

Does anyone else have major fluctuations between the amount of days between each period? Some months mine are like 22 days between then others like 36?! And do you normally have longer or shorter days in between? I Never know when it’s coming anymore!

  1. yes oh my gosh! This has been me lately over the last almost 10 months now! It would come at the end of the month, then each new month, it would start coming earlier and earlier and one month it didn't come at all. Like in February it came around the 26th of the month, now here in November, it came on the 4th! I really don't know the rhyme or reason. The last time this happened to me, I had fibroids that they said were messing with everything. I also have PCOS so I don't really know if that could be the culprit as well. But it is so frustrating and definitely hard to plan each month because it really just comes whenever it feels like it! Have you talked to your doctor about this!? -Kimberli (advocate)

    1. Yes!

In the past year, mine have ranged from 13 days to 33 days. The most common is 22 days. I only bleed for a couple of days when they're really short. Irregular periods are common with endometriosis and other conditions like PCOS (which I don't have). But mine have been much more bonkers the last couple of years. Is it pandemic stress? I have no idea.

I'm 41 and have a family history of uterine cancer, so I've asked my doctor about it. She checked for fibroids, endometrial abnormalities, cysts, and thyroid issues. All normal. She said it could possibly be the first signs of perimenopause. Or that I'm really sensitive to physical or emotional stress — which I already know is true. My period usually goes MIA if I'm sick or really worried about something.

I would definitely talk to your doctor about this. They can check for other conditions that might be causing the swings. Good luck and keep us updated! - Keri (endometriosis.net team member)

      1. yes! Mine has been fluctuating recently for especially this year. I've had irregular cycles lately. I still suspect I have endometriosis, but also thinking I have PCOS. I hope you get answers to your fluctuations in your cycle.

        1. that is just so frustrating. I am so sorry you are dealing with this still and not getting the answers. Keep fighting dear warrior. Even though I know how exhausting it is. Have you seen the endometriosis specialist yet? If not, hang in there until you see him/her. I think and hope they will be able to provide you with better answers as to what is going on. -Kimberli (advocate)

        2. I have not seen the endometriosis specialist, I was supposed to see them this month, on March 8th, but back during my ultrasound on February 7th, the tech had mentioned I would have a heavier period for the next one, since I skipped January's. I decided to then cancel my appointment because I didn't want to be bleeding heavily during the appointment. I rescheduled for April 12th.

      2. - did you ever find out anything regarding yours cycles?
