My today’s visit went so bad I was so anxious that I came out without letting my gynaec do physical exam..Shes a new doctor of mine.i a, so ashamed of myself. Are there any suggestions to overcome this.

  1. I can hear your fear as I read this. Please know that this is completely normal and you are not alone. Many folks in this community have experienced the same anxiety. (Here are a couple articles that you might find relatable: https://endometriosis.net/living/health-anxiety, https://endometriosis.net/living/doctor-anxiety). Many times it comes from feeling dismissed by doctors or from past visits where you received bad news. Is there a particular reason why you switched to this new doctor? Did you not feel comfortable with the previous one? It sounds like you could have some past experiences or trauma that's causing a subconscious reaction in your body. Have you ever tried talk therapy? It might be helpful to figure out what the root of your anxiety is. And please know that we're always here to lend a listening ear if you need it! 1. Thankyou so so much.Yes actually my past doctor moved away and yes I had a trauma when last time I was hospitalised with some doctors who were so rude and with no empathy towards the patients feelings.I wish I could avail some talk therapy sessions with someone in India.are there any good websites or therapists who do such sessions online ? I can’t shake away my thoughts despite trying so many things headspace, insight timer, even EFT tapping I have recently started.I know these things take time. Thanks for being there to listen.

    2. That sounds horrible! I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. It's understandable why you would feel nervous about going back there. That's great that you've been working with some mindfulness programs. I'm not sure how therapy outside the US works. Hopefully someone here can give you some guidance with online programs! - Kat (Team Member)
