Endometriosis and being ignored by obgyn

Why is there no home test for endometriosis where you could just buy a sanitary pad, use it on your period and get test results on your phone showing whether or not you had endometriosis. Why cant it be that simple so we know what's goimg on, instead of years of being dismissed?

  1. , that is a great idea! I know how frustrating it can be trying to find a diagnosis, you are not alone. I am sorry you head to deal with being dismissed for years. How have you been feeling lately? -Erin (team member)

  2. This is because it cannot be seen in period blood, it attaches to your organs and doesn’t move. Unfortunately the only way for a proper diagnosis is operation. Its kind of like a cancer, it spreads and you can have ‘tumours’ anywhere, but until it’s removed and you can do a biopsy on it you won’t know what the tissue is.

  3. I am sorry you have been dismissed. Let me tell you, use your voice! I spent 10 years, 7 gynecologist until I finally was able to get a gyno to agree to do a laparoscopy. She wasn't well versed in Endo, and I knew that going in. She did send tissue to pathology, which did confirm positive for endometriosis, I highly recommend you make sure that when doing a surgery you have them send the tissue, there are times were surgeons don't realize that it was endometriosis tissue and mistake it for scar tissue. This will help as well in terms of insurance and being approved for Pelvic Floor Therapy. It wasn't until I got a diagnosis that PVT was covered by insurance. I hope this helps you, and anyone that comes across this article.
