Recommended Birth Control to control endometriosis pain and continuous spotting?

I have tried Beyaz and Aygestin and both do not help. I was also on Junel. All of these are birth control methods and the 2 biggest issues I can't seem to beat, even after my laparoscopic surgery, is the pain and continuous spotting/period. I can spot for months straight and have full blown periods in between spotting and all this continues to cause pain. I would greatly appreciate any help or recommendations of birth controls to control endometriosis pain and continuous spotting!! Thank you!

  1. Hi I'll copy my answer from before, but also add an extra thought I've had since reading your questions.

It really depends on each person. I was put on cerazette, a progestin-based pill. This one has worked for a lot of people, effective as birth control, effective for period (and pain) control, but not for me. I experienced a lot of spotting, it didn’t get any better (only worse) over the course of 3 months so I gave it up. I am now on a different type of progestin, provera, the pill not the injection. The pill is less effective as a form of birth control. But, the spotting is minimal. That’s my own personal experience.

With regards to pain, the treatment I am on prevents my periods from happening, so I don’t get the excruciating pains I would normally experience. I still get random leg pain, and tugs from the adhesions/scar tissue I got after my most recent surgery.

I hope this helps 🙂 – Jessie (team member)
