I’m waiting to hear back from a specialist and an OBVYN any tips to manage symptoms until then?

I’ve been having endometriosis symptoms since I was about 15 it all started with the horrible period cramps and how they made me bed ridden. Now 5 years later at 20 my “periods” have me incapable of functioning unless I constantly have Advil in my system and smoke a lot of Cannabis to help too during flare ups- just specifically for my cramps I also have severe lower back pains migraines too (diagnosed) and the constipation and diarrhea I have talked to my family doctor and have to wait for the OBGYN and specialist clinic to contact me but as I’m writing this I’m feeling my Advil kick in but I would still so appreciate any advice that isn’t the normal heat pad or water bottle and Advil and such like I’m doing thank you so much 😀

  1. Hi I’m so sorry you’re dealing with so much pain, especially while waiting to get in with a specialist. 💛 I wanted to share this article that offers a few other pain relief options and gadgets that may be worth exploring: https://endometriosis.net/living/pain-relief-gadgets. I hope you’re able to find something that brings you some relief while you wait! Warmly, Erin (team member)

  2. Ugh the waiting is honestly the worst. Have you noticed anything apart from heat that actually helps your flares even a little?

    1. only taking extra strength Advil helps and avoiding things that stress me out cus I found that the more mentally overwhelmed I am the worse the other symptoms got. I’m still waiting to hear back and it could be another couple months from now too still 🙁

  3. Having to rely on Advil just to function at 20 is exhausting, especially when the pain comes with migraines and bowel issues too. I know how frustrating it is when the pain settles temporarily but keeps returning. Have you noticed whether the lower back pain starts before your period or continues even after the bleeding stops?
