Being told “just wait until your pregnant”
I’m surrounded by 5 pregnant women right now. I’m so tired of hearing “just wait until you’re pregnant” comments at least 1-2 times a day.
Don’t get me wrong I’m excited for them but for them to compare my pain that they don’t know to theirs just makes me feel like shit. Like I’m not pregnant I don’t know what it’s like so I won’t compare but why is it always the same like that makes every part of me want to shut down. Like I don’t know if I’ll have kids let alone I’m in pain I don’t want to hear that.
Oh man, that is really hard! It's so frustrating when other people try to compare their own pain to yours. Everyone is going through something different. Yes, there is pain that comes with pregnancy, but that doesn't mean that anything else that doesn't involve pregnancy isn't also painful! Not to mention to emotional pain associated with endometriosis and infertility. It's sounds like you're feeling misunderstood and alone. I'm so sorry. There are many members here who know this feeling well and understand that your pain is valid. We're here whenever you need support.

Kat (Team Member)I remember being in medical college and pushing through pelvic pain so bad that even standing for long was difficult, only to hear people say period pain is normal. It's exhausting when people compare pain they've never experienced! And bringing pregnancy into it when you dont even know what your fertility journey might look like is just insensitive.
