Possibly something helpful..

Hello incredible women, I am new here. I was diagnosed with endo 4yrs ago and had my first surgery. As I’m sure you all know, the relief didn’t last long. Anyways, I just wanted to share my morning with you.
I, probably like most of you, get pretty hectic pain and discomfort down my inner thighs, and the days when it’s bad I usually have to spend horizontal, with my lower legs elevated for any slight relief. If I do have to be on my feet, I have a big hideous brace that I wear that does offer some relief, but is very uncomfortable and gives me a rash.. Anyway, I recently purchased a particular pair of tights, they arrived yesterday. A friend asked me to go for a walk this morning and I woke up with my usual hectic leg pain (I’m assuming my period to due anytime soon) and told my friend I didn’t feel up to it. I had to do the school run, so get changed out of pjs, so I thought I’d try the tights on.. Oh my goodness instant sweet relief!! These are like compression tights or something?!! Unbelievably to me, I actually felt up to a walk! After a 20 minute, uphill walk, I am still standing and feel able to go about my usual, day off business! Days like this there is no way I could even consider hanging out a load of washing but oh my goodness these tights!! I’ve spent the last half an hour crying happy tears. It is only the first day, but I honestly just feel like this really might help with my pain management. It’s made me able to do some gentle exercise, which I know can help anyway but I’ve just never been able to do before! Anyway, I hope you are all doing okay, and I just wanted to share in case it could make a difference for anyone else too. The tights are a brand from New Zealand, designed my women, called AIMN. The ones I have are called ribbed, seamless. Lots of love to you all. Thanks

  1. Thanks so much for sharing this with us @brookelyn. It's funny because what helps with the pain in my legs is weight and pressure, so my weighted blanket provides instant relief, but the tights sound like something I may need to try. Welcome to the community! - Jessie (team member)

    1. Hi Jessie! Thank you for the nice welcome 🤗
I haven’t tried weighted blankets myself, but yes it soumething about the pressure hey, just really helps! I’m so happy to have found a place to be able to talk openly about all things endo, and to just feel so seen!!

      1. I have to say, I'm 100% with on the weighted blanket. I personally haven't bought one (yet) but literally, just the other day, was at my neighbor's house and she let me try hers for the first time. Total game changer. I immediately felt like I was getting a giant hug and felt so secure and comfortable. I almost didn't leave her house lol. You are absolutely seen and heard here Brooke and we're so glad that you're here with us! 💛 Kayleigh, Endometriosis.net team

    2. Oh wow that sounds amazing! I will absolutely have to look into the weighted blanket too! I’m so happy I found this space. It’s only been a few days and I already feel so supported! Thank you so much

      1. Awe, we're so glad you feel so supported! Your words made me smile so much! We're so happy to have you in this community with us Brooke. Let us know if you end up getting that weighted blanket and what your thoughts are on it! 💛 Kayleigh, Endometriosis.net team

    3. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with compression leggings. I love when somebody shares a surprising find like this one because so many people get stuck trying to come up with things to try. This is something I will look into myself.
After one of my surgeries, I was given a belly band to put around my stomach during recovery. As silly as it sounds, wearing the belly band helped with some of my pain. Unfortunately, a belly band is not something that just blends in or goes well with clothing in order to go out in public. But leggings would blend in with ease!

I also use weighted blankets, to the point that I have two of them. They really do help me with pain. It even helps me to get some sleep. I have noticed when I use a weighted blanket at night, I do not really move around as much as I do when I am not using it.

We are so glad to have you in our community! I am glad to hear that you already feel supported. That is definitely something we hope everybody feels when they find the community. - Amanda (team member)
