Travel and Chocolate cysts

Hi all! I have recently been diagnosed with endo (yayyyy...) and i have a 3.5 cyst on my right ovary. I am about to move to the UK and I am going travelling / hiking in SE Asia before I go. For those that travel, do you make sure that your travel insurance covers endo? Im not sure how worried / scared I need to be of anything going wrong. I will be taking plenty of pain meds but not sure if insurance coverage is required.

  1. Hi . We are not insurance experts in this by any means, but I would make sure your travel insurance covers endometriosis, especially if you have an endometrioma, or chocolate cyst. If you have one, you might easily develop another and you can't know when or if that will happen. An endometrioma that torqued her ovary landed my daughter in the ER when the pain led to vomitting and she passed out. I hope that never happens to you, but it might, and quick treatment can save the ovary as it did for her. Best to be safe and to be confident that if anything does go wrong, you will be well cared for. It sounds like a wonderful trip. Enjoy! - Lori (Team Member)
