Oct. 15th Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. This includes all losses including miscarriage.

Parent(s) get isolated in their grief and the stigma around the death of children prevents society from speaking about the devastating effects on parent(s) and their families. Together, we can help break the silence.

This is a safe place to acknowledge the significance of the babies who died too early. They matter to their parent(s) and they made a difference in this world.

🌷In 2007 I had two miscarriages. I didn't acknowledge the loss for a decade. 3yrs ago I had a naming ceremony for them to help begin the grieving process. I picked the Japanese names Remi: beautiful heart & Ren: Love.

  1. Hi , thank you for reminding us of this day of remembrance. I'm so sorry for your losses. I love the names that you've chosen for them!
You're right, pregnancy loss can be very isolating and an unacknowledged grief for families. I appreciate your courage in being open about your situation. We're so much better off together. Sending love. -Audrey (endometriosis.net team)

    1. Thank you, I wanted their names to have special meaning to me.

The Endo community is hit pretty hard with this because of the nature of the disease and I felt it was important to talk about it here. I think I remember seeing a stat (albeit, I can't recall if it's a true stat) that 5-10 with infertility issues is cause of Endo.

  2. These names are absolutely beautiful, Ray. Thank you for sharing this with us and for being so open with us. I 100% agree with Audrey, we're so much better off together. 💛

    1. I haven't shared their names with anyone else but my husband. There hasn't been a safe space/place to do so yet.

Yes, agreed, we're much better off together. 💛

    2. We are super honored and touched that you shared them here with us and more importantly that you felt safe and comfortable in doing so. Lots of love 💛💛💛
