Medication thoughts, advice and maybe even suggestions

Hiyaa,

A couple of weeks ago I posted how I was not actually diagnosed but my doctor swears by it that my pain is endo and just doesn't want to have to go through surgery. She said that according to my ultrasound, she is 99% positive that it is... So I have made the decision to get my iud removed because the pain is just unbearable and with that being said I have to find another form of either birth control or even pain management. One thing she suggested was Orilissa?! Has anyone ever heard of it, know anything about it or just in general highly recommend it?? I have been doing my research but I would just like to get some more information.

If anyone has any other things to share with me please feel free just trying to get this under control

  1. I'm sorry to hear that you're in so much pain. I don't have personal experience with Orlissa, and I know you said you've been during research, but I thought I'd put these articles here in case they are helpful.

    1. thank you so much!

  2. I have been on Orilissa for 1 1/2 years for endo pain! I’ve previously taken Lupron & had success with that, but my pain eventually came back. Tried other birth control drugs with no relief, so I decided to try Orilissa as a last resort which you can only be in for 2 years so I’m nearing the end of my time on it. I was very scared to try it but knew I couldn’t live with the pain anymore. I am happy to say it has helped my pain tremendously! There are some possible serious side effects but you have to decide which is worse, the daily pain or the side effects. My biggest side effect is anxiety. Like through the roof anxiety. Along with some depression, joint pain & mood swings. So glad I tried it as it has reduced my pain to normal cramping & bloating. No periods while on it after a few months. Wishing you the best of luck!

    1. thank you so much for the feedback. It really makes my day to hear great things. Yes, I was a little worried about the anxiety side effect but as you said the pain can sometimes be unbearable but you have to try to see what works. Everything is so far so good.

    2. well we will keep sending happy thoughts your way that you continue to see the best of days!! <3 -Kimberli (advocate)
