Laparoscopy results

Hello,

I recently had a laparoscopy and a few other procedures. The result was mold-moderate endometriosis and a blocked fallopian tube.
I've spent so many years trying to convince my doctors that the pain i feel leading up to and during my period is not normal only for them to completely dismiss me.
I found a wonderful specialist who has gone above and beyond and given me a diagnosis within 3 months of seeing him for my first appointment.

It definitely did come as a shock though. I'm laying in bed in quite a bit of pain a day after my laparoscopy amongst other procedures and it all seems like some nightmare.

I don't know what comes next and what this means for me. My follow up appointment with my specialist is in a couple of weeks. How did you cope eith your first diagnosis?

  1. Hi , I'm so glad that you've stopped by our community. You've had a tough week! Hopefully you are feeling physically better on day 2 after your laparoscopy--the first day is often the most uncomfortable.
Mentally and emotionally, though--yes, it's shocking and nightmarish. It's so great that you found a caring specialist to work with you on this, especially having your concerns dismissed for so long. I think you'll get some really good information and help making a plan for next steps when you have your postop appointment.
Until others chime in about their experiences coping with their endo diagnosis, here's an article that may be helpful: https://endometriosis.net/coping
The bottom line is: you are not alone. The community here understands you and is here for you. You've connected with a specialist that will help you move forward with this. Please keep in touch and let us know how you're recovering. Sending best wishes for a smooth recovery! -Audrey (endometriosis.net team)
