Laparoscopy

Hi! So I had my laparoscopy on Wednesday and they didn’t find endometriosis which yes I’m happy about BUT I’m still where I was a year back of not knowing. I experience really painful unbearable periods, shooting pain down thighs, headache, bloating, insomnia and nausea. I have tried every contraceptive bar the coils (I am too scared get them). The doctors keep shoving me off and saying there’s nothing more that can be done. Does anyone have any advice please !!!!!!

  1. Hi . Welcome to the community! You must be super frustrated, especially after undergoing surgery. I can understand avoiding the coils. They scare me a bit as well. My best advice would be to simply keep advocating for yourself. It can be physically and emotionally draining, but it's really the only way to get answers. Has your doctor explored other possibilities, like hormonal imbalance, cervical stenosis or pelvic inflammatory disease? If not, you might benefit from finding a doctor who is more willing to think out of the box and follow through with testing. I hope this helps and that you get answers and relief. In the meantime, here are some alternative treatments that might help ease your symptoms: https://endometriosis.net/complementary-alternative-treatment. Warmest of wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. thank you for your kind welcoming and understanding....
I had a blood test a year ago regarding hormones and it came back that estradiol levels were low but they left it and did nothing about it....
I have had internal and on the belly ultrasounds to check for PCOS when I was 16 which came back negative, I am now 20.
shall I bring up the low estradiol to see if I can get a more updated blood test?

      1. Hi . We are not medical experts, so please keep that in mind. Personally, I would pursue it. Most any good lead is worth following until you get answers. Keep me posted if you don't mind. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
