How do you manage endometriosis pain on a daily basis? Any tips or remedies that have worked for you?

Any tips or remedies that have worked for you?

  1. I have stage 4 endo and I noticed changing my diet has helped immensely. I cut out caffeine which was hard since I was an avid coffee drinker! Limiting dairy really helped too. After feeling the relief of the changes I don’t miss those foods! Increasing my daily activity helped too.

    1. how do you even get a doctor to diagnosis this? every one ive seen over the last 16 years has said "painful periods happen" and my options are either skipping my periods with hormonal birth control (nevermind all those side effects or limitations) or taking ibuprofen. I don't know where to go to be taken seriously.

    2. You should see an endometriosis excision specialist. It may require travel to get to one but it sounds like it would be well worth it for you.

  2. I was put on the combined contraceptive pill permanently this means I don’t have periods at all which has definitely helped. When I used to get what I called the white hot pain I used to get my husband to sit on my back while I lent over a stool.. bit odd but it helped so then I got a curved piece of wood to simulate the same effect when I was sitting working, basically every time the pain hit I would press hard into the wood against my chair and it would have the same feeling. Also coq10 enzyme (boots) helps with energy to cope with the pain and fatigue

    1. I have cut gluten and dairy out of my diet along with limiting sugar and alcohol. I also go to acupuncture every other week, meditate, take magnesium citrate daily, and exercise regularly. All of that combined with managing my stress levels have helped significantly.

      1. With the guidance of my online doctor from Ongo Care, I have made lifestyle changes, same as you mentioned like cutting out gluten, and dairy, limiting sugar and alcohol, and incorporating acupuncture, meditation, and regular exercise. These measures, along with stress management, have greatly improved my health.

    2. I have been gluten and dairy free for the past year and it has helped soo much with daily painful bloating. I have also started to change my workout routine and stopped doing intense cardio and switched it out for weightlifting and yoga. I also started to use different forms of pain management after i got an ucler from taking too much ibuprofen. I swear by the Lila's pain patches they really help with light pain days and bloating. Also using weed edibles when I can instead of taking painkillers. But even doing all of this I did still have a laparoscopy this past summer.

      1. Hey ! It sounds like you're doing a great job listening to your body and making adjustments when you need them. Thanks for sharing!
