Question about birth control use

After being on different birth controls, how long does it usually take before your period comes back?

Have a question? Ask it here!

  1. Hello , it depends on the treatment you are on, and each individual person, but generally it comes back quite soon. I took several types of contraceptive pills over the years and as soon as I stopped, it took around 10 days for my periods to re-appear. I hope this helps - Jessie (team member)

    1. Hi , like Jessie said, it depends on the treatment you are on. When I took lighter birth control pills (the "mini pill" for example), my period came back quite quickly, but I have also had to wait a month to six week for my period to come back after being on some of the heavier pills. If you are concerned about how long it takes for your period to appear, do talk to a doctor about it. - Christina (team member)
