Zoladex injection

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis around 5 years ago, had several laparoscopies, tried different treatments, prostap injections and many painkillers. I am currently having a flare up and recieved zoladex injection 1 week ago, has anyone else had this injection? I am suffering from really bad palpitations and was wondering if this could be due to the injection, thank you.

  1. Hey , thanks for reaching out. If you’re experiencing heart palpitations you should tell your doctor as soon as possible. I wish I could be more helpful, but there are a number of reasons why this could be happening, and it is best to discuss it all with a physician. In the meantime, go easy on yourself, rest as much as possible. We are here if you need us. - Jessie (team member)

    1. I realize you posted a while ago, but I was curious how everything is going now?

I have had 5 months worth of Zoladex injections for endometriosis that was prescribed to me by a reproductive endocrinologist. I never had palpitations with the injections. According to my doctor, it does put you into a drug-induced menopause, so the biggest side effects that I experienced were hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Honestly, I loved Zoladex and those side effects did not bother me too much. It took about 1 month for me to see any improvement in my symptoms, but after that 1-month mark, I had zero pain.

      1. Hi everyone, I just wanted to leave this article here that explains in detail how these Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists (Gn-RH agonists) work, possible side effects, and general things to know and to research in case anyone wanted to take a look at it. The article can be found here: https://endometriosis.net/hormone-therapy/gonadotropin-reviews-how-well-works-side-effects. 💛 Warmly, Kayleigh, Endometriosis.net team
