No Diagnosis

Hi all.

I'm 31, last July I suffered a miscarriage ( I do have 2 children- and had no issues with carrying both of them previously) the past year since the miscarriage something hasn't been right, my periods are heavy, I'm in agony with my periods which is very unlike me they are heavy, and today and last months I've come so close to passing out and hot sweats. I rang the DRS today and she tried to fob me off with going on the pill however my husband had just had a vasectomy so I don't want to do that as I gained 2 st from the pill.

I just want to know symptoms and just know something isn't right and all my symptoms on Google come up as endometriosis. The Dr has said she is referring me to gynecologist, but I'm in such pain

  1. Hi , I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, first of all, and also about the pain you're experiencing. I really hope you will get an appointment with the gynaecologist soon and you can get some pain relief in the meantime. Good for you not to be fobbed off with the pill, as if it is endometriosis, you'll want that treated as soon as possible.
I, too, experienced a lot of pain after suffering a miscarriage (which was my first pregnancy) and that's how my endometriosis was discovered, so I know how horrible that can be.
I hope you get relief soon and please know we're here if you need to talk.

    2. I hope you get an appointment soon!

It sounds like you're in the UK. So am I and I just wanted to let you know that there are special endometriosis centers in the UK. See if you can get a referral to one of them which is near you. You can ask your GP to refer you directly if you suspect endometriosis. I was treated at an endometriosis center and it is so much better than going to a regular gyneacologist as they not only have gyneacologists specialised in endometriosis, but also pain management nurses.

You can send me a private message if you want more information.

  2. Hi echoing what Christina said, please know we are here for you. You have been going through so much, but you are taking the right steps, being referred to a gynaecologist.

I hate that you are in so much pain though. Do you have a TENS machine? I have one, it was very cheap and it changed my life. It can help even with severe levels of pain. I am including a couple of links with some pain-related tips that may be of help:

    1. Thank you for this, I shall have a look for a TENS machine, ive spoken to the NHS booking line regarding my appointment and to be told " no we have nothing available due to Covid -19 and unable to see you " which I completely get but I rang the DRS after I spoke to the booking line and told them I need something to be checked as I'm getting so much anxiety coming up to the time of the month and the worry of working alone and feeling like I was going to pass out last month has really scared me, i have started again with the pains so I must be due to come on i was so regular before all this and now I don't know when it will happen and the pains are horrendous. I've got myself so upset the past few weeks and noticed pain whilst I shouldn't be ( ๐Ÿ™ˆ if you get me ๐Ÿ™Š) im so frustrated and need answers and feel its falling on deaf ears ๐Ÿ˜ช thanks for the link i will have a look xxx
