Mid cycle symptoms

I am interested to hear from anybody who has symptoms in the first half of their cycle (follicular phase). I have bad period cramps but the first half of my cycle is usually a huge struggle with upper and lower back pain, sometimes leg pain. I am not diagnosed formally with endo. I feel generally awful during this time. Most of the info online suggests that people experience pain in the pre-menstrual phase.
Does anybody else experience this issue? It's really getting me down.

  1. Afternoon Lucy ,yes I experience those as well but being in the first half of the cycle ,I was told likely related to ovulation coming on. I am now stage 3 endo diagnosed tho so likely link to that for me - speak to your doctor about ur concerns. As hard as it is -try not to let it get you down- take sometime for urself like a warm bath or a gentle walk helped my leg pain.here if you need a chat 💬.

    1. Hi . I'm sorry you're having trouble during the first half of your cycle, and you're not alone in this. While my worst symptoms are during the luteal phase, I also have pelvic, leg, back, and hip pain in the days around ovulation.

My early and mid-cycle symptoms were a lot worse before I had my endometriomas removed, so I definitely think this issue is worth bringing up with your doctor if you haven' yet.

Speaking of ovulation, in case this is helpful, here's an article I wrote about that kind of pain: https://endometriosis.net/clinical/ovulation-pain

      1. Thank you to and for responding. I am really sorry that you both suffer with this too. I feel a bit better knowing that I am not alone and really appreciate your responses. I have messaged my GP for another appointment and hopefully, they can do something to help me. I have suspected for a few years now that I have endo but I understand it can be very hard to get a diagnosis.

        1. sending you big hugs Lucy! It is definitely helpful knowing we are in this together. Of course, it still isn't easy. Truly hoping you can get another apt and some answers to help you get relief. Do keep us posted and again, know, you can reach out to us anytime you need.
