Symptoms of endometriosis

Hi, just wondering what peoples symptoms were before they were diagnosed with endometriosis? I have been suffering really bad these last couple of months when on my period with really bad cramp to the point it makes my body ache afterwards and I can’t move without it hurting asthough I have just done 1000 sit ups! I have painful bowel movements aswell when on my period and feeling sick! Just wondered if this is just general period pain or if anyone else was like this before being diagnosed ? Thanks

  1. Hi , I had the same symptoms (even the painful bowel movements) before I was diagnosed and I thought it was general period pain as well. I also started having frequent pelvic and abdominal pain even when my period wasn’t on. Just wondering if you have been diagnosed or you think you have endometriosis? If you don’t mind saying.

    1. Hi Shai! Just wanted to say thank you for commenting and being a part of this community. Since your endometriosis diagnosis, how have you been feeling? Hope you are doing well and having a great week. XO -Kimberli (team member)

    2. hi, I doing ok. Aside from the Endometriosis I also have an auto immune disease so I have good days and bad days. Just taking one day at a time. Thank you for asking.

  2. Hi! No I have not been diagnosed but worrying that I do have endometriosis with having these symptoms! I haven’t been to a GP yet as didn’t know if I was just being dramatic or not haha but these last couple of months have been so bad iv never felt period pain like it! Thankyou for responding! X

    1. Hi , I completely agree with . You are not being dramatic--something is not right. It may be endo or it may not, but definitely worth getting checked out. You could start with your GP or go directly to a GYN if that's an option for you. And please let us know how things are going for you! Sending best wishes,
      -Audrey (endometriosis.net team)

    2. You are not being dramatic at all! It’s absolutely normal to feel this way. Before I was diagnosed I had abdominal and pelvic pain for three days straight. I was at work laying over on the table because I felt so weak and sick and I thought I was being dramatic as well, I thought it was all in my head until I had no choice but to go to the ER for the pain.
When you go to the doctor do not take no’s and maybes for an answer. Give your doctor all your symptoms and facts and make sure they take further steps. I am not trying to worry you but I put off getting help for years and listened to doctors when they told me the pelvic pain was normal and the bowel problems was because I needed more fiber. I ended up in the ER from severe pain and had to get two large cysts removed from both my ovaries.
Remember to trust your body and your instincts. You know what’s best for you! I wish you the best of luck on your journey and I hope this helps you in some way.

  3. when my endometriosis first started I felt like my ovaries were literally on fire!! Then after that I started getting “Chocolate Cysts” their cysts that build up and pop and reverse flow leading to bleeding and all that fun stuff.. after that muscle spasms came and it radiated to my back and down my thighs.

    2. I have never felt so much support other than my mom who is my only source of support therapy… lol I am truly blessed to have somewhere to vent, come to when I’m down or up, and that understands how I feel. I also and so thankful that it is free with financials being such a burden right now with not working because of my endometriosis:
I appreciate you and everyone on here so much I thank God that he lead me in my research for support groups here.
