Hysterectomy Questions

  • By SandraD

I was diagnose this past summer with endometriosis. I had a hysterectomy but i still feel the same. I don’t know what else to do. I’m constantly sick I only get a week out of a month that I feel ok. It’s just so much pain and fatigue. Has anyone got a hysterectomy done and still feel the same way no change not even a lil.

Hi @sandrad, I’m sorry you aren’t finding any relief after your surgery. I can’t imagine how frustrating that must feel. I hope some community members will chime in with some personal experiences, but in the meantime, another community member inquired about something similar and I thought you might be interested to read the responses: https://endometriosis.net/q-and-a/can-endometriosis-reoccur-after-a-total-hysterectomy/

Also, one of our advocates, @fmtima, wrote an article “the truth about my hysterectomy” that I thought you might find interesting. https://endometriosis.net/living/my-hysterectomy/

Hello @sandrad I haven’t had a hysterectomy, but I’ve had two surgeries to treat my endometriosis. My surgeon always reminds me that it can take up to 6-8 months to feel any changes. Just like Pam advised, feel free to have a look at the articles on the subject, but also check out the facebook comments under those posts, as many fellow endometriosis patients shared their experiences after having a hysterectomy. Stay strong and do reach out if you need help – Jessie (team member)
