Scared of endo symptoms

So my endo presents itself a little differently then what I’ve been told most people get. I have the heavy periods, I cramp way before my periods start and they last for ages, I have dyspareunia etc. but where I feel the most pain is in my hip, groin and slightly on my sciatic nerve. I was telling my doctor before Christmas that I was having a sharp pain on my left side that seems to get worse during my time of the month. Last month and this month especially I’ve had my ligaments / lymph nodes swell in my groin (inguinal) and whilst the doctors say there is no mass, I heard inguinal endo us really rare. I am waiting for a laparoscopy and all I can think about is whether they are wrong and it is a growth… has anyone else had endo cause groin swelling?

  1. I had hip pain, leg pain, and sciatic pain and it turned out I had endo growing near my sacral nerve and inguinal ligament. I saw Dr. Einarsson at Brigham and Women's in Boston and he is one of the few people who can excise endo from the sacral nerve. I don't know who your doctor is or if going to Boston is accessible to you, but you may want to consider at least a consultation with him. I did a phone consultation and it helped me make the decision to work with him. I'm happy to chat more if you want to send me a private message. ~Katrina, Endometriosis.net Advocate

    1. so sorry you are dealing with this! I have a lot of hip, groin and sciatic pain as well.
During my second laparoscopy, they found I had a inguinal hernia. Once that was removed, I had some relief.
I now have one on my left side and am having surgery this month to get it removed, but have noticed that same
pain is back and it is another inguinal hernia. Also, pelvic floor dysfunction could cause a lot of pain as well.
I pelvic floor PT could be helpful for that. I am doing PT right now to help with all the other pains. And lastly,
endometriosis could also be the culprit and be growing there. I am glad you do have a lap scheduled so you can
hopefully get some answers and relief soon! Please keep us posted! -Kimberli (advocate)
