Pain after oophorectomy

I was diagnosed with endo 7 years ago and have had 4 surgeries since. My most recent one was over a year ago in which my OBGYN removed my left ovary. It was always the source of the most pain and most frequent and large cysts. I have felt pretty good up until the last month or so. I'm starting to feel the same pains on my left side. Has anyone else experienced this? I was so hopeful for long term results!

  1. I'm sorry to hear that you've had four surgeries...that's the same number I've had. I had my left ovary removed in 2020 because it was causing the most problems, growing endometriomas like it was in an Olympic competition. I went back for another surgery in 2021 because my right ovary had another endometrioma and although I originally wanted to try to save my ovary, it turned out to be the right decision to have it removed. I'm almost two years out from my last surgery and I rarely have pain anymore. For the first year, after my last surgery I did experience pelvic pain though, especially on my left side, even with the ovary gone. It has receded and only flares when I experience a lot of stress. I suspect it is my surgical scars flaring up.

Did you have excision or ablation?
