Ovary stuck to the back of womb

Hi, I've been having trouble with my periods for a long time but more so the past 3 years. I have had polyps removed around 4 years ago which made my periods normal.
But the past 2 years my ovaries are really painful, id have more than one period a month, and longer periods, the worse back pain.
I had an ultra sound a year ago and nothing appeared and got pushed urgent to the gynecologist by the doctors because of the pain I was in.
A year went by and i had my gyno app. They basically said I need to go on contraception which I've had bad experiences in the past.I feel like i was on the waiting list for over a year to be told to go on contraception.
I was advised by the gynecologist to go for another ultrasound in case there has been any changes since last years, and they said everything looks fine but one of your ovaries are stuck to the back of the womb which could be endometriosis. I've never been told this before on an ultrasound.
I received a letter from the gyno saying about the scan and said to go on contraception for 6 months. But i don't see how this unsticks my ovary?
I booked another app with my gp to discuss what's next . He basically said there's nothing wrong with me and the gyno said everything is okay. But I know they're not?? The doctor has prescribed me with tablets to make my periods lighter which I've had 2 years ago. I also asked if I'm able to have baby's and he said I should be able to which isn't really the answer I was looking for because he didn't seem sure.
I feel like everything is a temporary fix.
Can someone give me advice as I don't think I'm being taken seriously. I Am nearly 29 and will be wanting to have children in the next couple of years
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks x

  1. I'm so sorry to hear how dismissive your doctors have been. It's so frustrating when you know something isn't right but you can't get any answers. I wonder if it's time for you to get a second opinion from another gyno. There are other tests that can be done to see if the pain you're experiencing is from endometriosis. Here is a brief overview of some of the ways you can be diagnosed: https://endometriosis.net/diagnosis.
I'll also give you this article about how to prepare for a doctors appointment so that you can make sure you get the answers you're looking for: https://endometriosis.net/clinical/doctors-visit.
Unfortunately, this community is all too familiar with the feeling of being dismissed and having to fight to be heard. Sometimes all it takes is finding the right doctor who will listen.
I hope someone will chime in with more advice for you. Take good care <3 - Kat (Team Member)
