Hi!
I’m a Graphic and Communication Design student at the University of Leeds, and I’m currently working on my final-year dissertation.
I also live with endometriosis myself, and through both personal experience and research, I’ve seen how difficult it can be to explain symptoms clearly during healthcare appointments — and how this can contribute to delayed recognition and diagnosis. This project is something I really care about, and I hope it can contribute, in a small way, to improving communication and the future of endometriosis care.
I’m looking for women diagnosed with endometriosis to take part in a design research study exploring how visual tools might help women communicate symptoms more clearly during healthcare consultations, with the longer-term aim of supporting earlier recognition and diagnosis.

🩺 What’s involved?
• A relaxed interview and/or small co-design workshop
• Talking about experiences of communicating symptoms to healthcare professionals
• Giving feedback on early visual ideas (no design or medical knowledge needed)
• Workshops will also be a chance to meet other women with endometriosis, and share stories, tips, and experiences in a supportive, respectful space
• Sessions can be online or in person, depending on what’s easiest for you
⏰ Time commitment:
Approximately 45–60 minutes
💬 Why take part?
• Your experiences will directly shape a design project focused on improving communication in endometriosis care
• Better communication can help support earlier recognition and diagnosis
• A chance to connect with others who understand what living with endometriosis is like
• You’ll be contributing to research that centres lived experience and helps inform the future of endometriosis communication tools
🔒 Important information
• Participation is completely voluntary
• You can withdraw at any time
• All responses will be anonymous and confidential
• This study has received ethical approval from the University of Leeds
