Has Anyone's Endo Presented This Way?

Hello, I have had 5 or 6 episodes of ruptured ovarian cysts, just finding out that's what was happening the 4th time it happened. This was occurring about every 3 mo or so. The 3rd time I had a CT by my PCP, the 4th I had an US by my OB and they said it was a burst hemmoragic cyst.

I was started on Naltrexone being told it may or may not help. It's been 7 months since I started it, and no burst cysts since until 2 days ago.

My question is, my OB said these could be endometriomas caused by endometriosis. I have always had very heavy and painful periods and I am on medication to control the bleeding. However, i don't have pelvic pain when not on my period. Have any of you been diagnosed with Endo and mainly only symptoms are pain during periods and when cysts rupture?? I see my OB at the end of this month. Thanks!

  1. Hello thanks for reaching out. I think it’s great that you are seeing your doctor and that they seem to be informed enough about endometriosis to mention it to you. They seem to be taking you pain seriously and this is fantastic. Endometriosis presents itself very differently depending on who you ask. Some patients experience very little or no pain outside of their period, while others experience discomfort during ovulation, or the days leading up to their period.

Additionally, some patients experience a form of endometriosis that consists mainly of endometriomas. I am attaching a few links with information on this particular version of the disease.
