Could it be kidney stones or endo?

Hello, I have another post but I will briefly explain. I have had mild pain for 8 months on my left side everyday. 2 weeks out of the month is like a fire ball put under my left rib all the way down the my left ovaries.

Last month I got taken to hospital again to be told they think it is a kidney stone and may have more cysts coming and going (had a cyst size of a golf ball which has gone)

Has anyone else been told about a kidney stone? I don't believe it is because the pain come when on my period and the meds they have given have finished and pain is there.
I have started to get a shooting pain on my left side so bad I have to hold my breathe, this is new! P.s I only started my actual period last year at 25. (late starter

Thank you for your time, just need some answers.

Paige

  1. Hi Paige, thank you so much for writing in. Goodness my heart is going out to you reading your words. I am so sorry you are in so much pain right now. I don't personally have experience with kidney stones but I can say that while it is usually somewhat on the rarer side, endometriosis can affect the kidneys. To test for that, they may recommend an ultrasound, CT scan or MRI of the kidneys and general area. They, being a urologist, might also call for a test called cystoscopy. I am including some articles about the relationship between endometriosis and kidney conditions. Unfortunately we aren't medical professionals here and can't give medical advice. I would say though, that it isn't uncommon for endo warriors to need second, third or even four or more opinions when it comes to their conditions and symptoms. If you are experiencing pain so badly that you need to hold your breath, I would absolutely call your physician and demand to be seen to make sure everything is ok. I'll be thinking you Paige and please keep us posted on how you're doing and feeling. Here are the articles I mentioned before:
