How to Tell if Produce is Organic

Transitioning to organic produce can be a bit costly for the pocket, but incredibly valuable for the body. Did you know that virtually every piece of produce has a label that will distinguish if it’s grown via conventional or organic farming methods?

The sticker on a piece of produce has a PLU code. If the number starts with a “9”, it’s been grown organically. If it starts with a “4”, it’s been grown conventionally.

What do you choose? Do you buy organic or conventional produce?
