Multiple Diagnoses: Managing Stress is Critical

After I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2016, I really started to question truly how well I was managing my health. I thought I was doing everything right. I ate a nutrient-dense, balanced diet. I exercised regularly. I even got decent sleep despite the high level of stress I was under.

That’s when it hit me: Every time I received a new medical diagnosis – endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, or multiple sclerosis, it was during a time of high stress. It’s not to say that stress is the root cause of these medical conditions, but it certainly creates an environment in the body where a disease has a better chance of taking over. That’s when I decided stress management had to be equally as important to the food I was putting in my body.
