Finally Getting Something Done

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis after the birth of my 3rd daughter, when she was 6 years old. No lap, surgery or anything. Just based off of symptoms. This was in 2006. I've been to numerous doctors and finally found a specialist in 2019 because now I'm bleeding so heavy each month, I'm now anemic.

I'm finally going in for a procedure this Friday to see what stage it is and what my treatment options are. Keep fighting ladies. Find someone who will listen to you.

Hello <inline-mention user-id="2057238" username="mommymc"/> 😀 I was diagnosed for years with endo as well and didn't do much about it short of daily management of symptoms as well. Then a few years after having my children I also started bleeding very heavily which landed me anemic as well. Luckily I was able to have a procedure to "calm" the bleeding down. Anyway, I hope your procure went well on Friday and that you are resting comfortably today, hopefully with some answers. Take care! -Leanne, Community Moderator

I have to wait 3 weeks for my test results. The Dr. also took me off of the medication I was on to control my monthly cycle bleeding until he gets my results,which I'm not too happy about. I haven't had a cycle this month though,so fingers crossed it doesn't return. Maybe I will get lucky and go through menopause without surgery. My Mom and late Sister had hysterectomies at the age of 40. (not related to Endo though)

Well, we are certainly happy to hear they did not find endometrial cancer, thank goodness. But I do know how frustrating it is when doctors don't tend to do anything other to help- we are so sorry. Truly hope you can find a new specialist who can shed some light on what else is going on and give you some advice on treatments. I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this. I know COVID has made things a lot more harder lately. And I can absolutely understand avoiding going out. I have been trying my best to do that as well. Truly hope you are doing ok and staying safe as well. Thinking of you and also hoping you have been able to find a doctor since you last responded. Hugs <3 -Kimberli (team member)
