Mirena coil for endo

Has anyone had the mirena coil specifically for their endometriosis? What was your experience? Weight gain, a new, anxiety etc?

  1. Hi . Welcome to the community! I hope you get some responses from others in the community, but, while you wait, I thought I would share this article with you: https://endometriosis.net/living/mirena-coil. Here is another article about the Mirena coil that might also help: https://endometriosis.net/clinical/iud. Have you been diagnosed long? If so, have you tried any other treatments? Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Just been diagnosed a month ago, i was quite asymptomatic for the last 17 years tbh. I had 2 ultrasounds that showed endo & an MRI scan. Its believed that I'm near enough to stage 5, with a 9.5cm endometrioma as well both ovaries volume size 3x the norm, multiple smaller endometriomas, scar tissue on my appendix & caecum as well as rectum. It's most definitely believed to be DIE & I'm scheduled for my lap on the 19th. Dr advised the mirena so I was hoping I'd get some more personal experiences on it.

      1. I hope the surgery goes well and that you recovery quickly, , especially given that it's the holiday season. My daughter was feeling pretty good two days after surgery. She had to remind herself to take it easy. I hope that is the case for you and that your doctor is able to remove any and all endometrial tissue. Keep us posted if you don't mind and you have time. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
