Holistic Living with Endo

Have you found a specific diet that has helped you curb your endo symptoms?

Have you tried any holistic medications, supplements, or treatments for lowering inflammation, relieving pain, or other symptoms?

What holistic treatments (massage, reiki, acupuncture, physical therapy, etc) have you tried that have helped your endo?

Do you have any holistic rituals that help calm your mind and body during a flare?

Share any tips and tell us about your experiences!

  1. Garlic essential oils helped with my inflammation. I would take a hot bath (hydrotherapy) and rub a couple drops on my ovaries and lower abdomen.

I have also heard primrose oil supplements are supposed to help with endometriosis and other women things we deal with 😀

    Gluten free diets
    Turmeric

And if your a caffeine drinker which I am oops, try to limit it as it can cause flare ups.. I just deal with it because I need my coffee.

    1. I miss eating garlic like I used to pre-IBS. Now I have to eat it in tiny amounts. I used to chuck so much into my spaghetti's, especially in the winter. I miss garlic bread so much!!!!

    2. I also became a vegetarian 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with endo, I researched and found out the enzyme in meat called alkaline causes women like us with endo inflammationโ€ฆ gluten free I also switched too along with a new aleve roller ball I found over the counter at Walmart

  2. Hi !
I find that during flare ups, a heating pad and some ginger-turmeric tea helps me most. I personally prefer the loose-leaf teas based on flavor but the pre-packaged teabags I find at stores are just as effective for me. They don't make the pain go completely away but a dull pain I can walk with is more manageable than a stabbing pain that arrests all movement. At school and work I kept the teabags and a microwavable heating pad there for unexpected pain emergencies. Whether it was my backpack/purse, locker, or workdesk, all available places I kept something just in case, since I never know when endo pain will strike. I also carry a waterbottle everywhere I go to keep hydrated, and it can be used to hold tea in a pinch. I hope this is helpful to you! Best of luck in finding relief~

    1. Hi ! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I adore ginger-turmeric tea as well! Aside from it tasting so comforting and yummy, I find it really does help overall inflammation, at least for myself. These are such great suggestions to keep them handy and having that water bottle ready! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›

  3. My pleasure! Getting through the school and work day can be rough and until I discovered these things I was always being sent home. I just hope that by sharing, people don't go decades like I did until finding some relief and coping for days we are out and about!

  4. I meant ginger essential oils so sorry

    1. No need to apologize! Honestly, as soon as I read garlic, my eyes lit up. I eat way too much of it and am often called "little vampire" in my family lol. I love ginger and ginger oil! I add (if I have it on hand) fresh grated ginger (oil if not fresh), turmeric and curcumin to my morning smoothies all the time. Thank you so much for coming back and mentioning that! How have you been lately? ๐Ÿ’›
