Has anyone gotten an endometriosis diagnosis after a c-section?
Has anyone gotten endometriosis after a c-section? I have 2 kids - both were c-sections. My last c-section was in November 2018. After breastfeeding I got my period back in April. I have noticed a lot of changes. They are heavier, more painful. I’ve been getting sharp pain on my right lower abdomen. Went to my OB and she sent me to do an ultrasound. Didn't find anything. I also got a CAT scan done and they didn't see anything but the emergency doctor told me maybe it could be endometriosis. I'm on my period this week and I noticed a new symptom. It hurts a little when I pee. Has anyone got any of the symptoms above?

. I have endometriosis and have some of the symptoms you describe. A scan would probably not detect endometriosis, since adhesions can hide behind organs, and be located in places that are too deep to be seen through imaging. Which is why laparoscopies are currently the only way to diagnose endometriosis for certain. You can easily have had endometriosis for years and not have developed any life-altering symptoms, in fact many patients don’t know they have endo and continue to happily live their lives. It’s important to remember that I’m not saying you have it, but that I live with very similar symptoms, and yes discomfort while urinating can be one of them. Here is some info on the symptoms that can come with endometriosis.

My advice would be to write all of these symptoms own, if possible note how often they occur and when (sort of a symptom diary). Take that information to your doctor and express your concerns.

, I just wanted to weigh in here as well. I have endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroid's. And my symptoms are very similar to yours. I was sent for numerous scans and they never showed any of these! It is very rare for endometriosis to be seen on a scan as Jessie stated above. It was not until I had surgery, did they see both the endo and fibroids. My surgery was in December and I have noticed my period has not been as heavy as it once was. I certainly would write down your symptoms daily. When they happen, how they happen, what were you doing when it started, is it time for your cycle- and bring that with you next time you see your doctor. I am not saying you have any of those illnesses above, but your symptoms certainly do sound very similar to mine! Have you tried reaching out to an endometriosis specialist? They may be able to better assist you rather than your gyno.
