Could this be endo?

6 weeks ago I started getting a dull pain where both my ovaries are, got a transvaginal & abdominal ultrasound done and it showed nothing, when I had the transvaginal one done I was in excruciating pain when she told me she was doing my ovaries, for days after I was in horrific stabbing pain, every day for 6 weeks I’m in pain, hurts when I lay down, when I move around, when I’m just sitting, I feel like a cripple…my doctor wrote me off after the ultrasound so I saw another who immediately with no questions or tests said it was endo and wanted to stop my period and put me on meds and scared me half to death…I’ve never had heavy or painful periods in my life, I’ve been on birth control for 4 years I’m 25, no kids, ive had pain with sex for a few years now but just deal with it since no one ever found anything…does bad non-stop ovary pain sound like endo? I have no idea what else it can be without any cysts or fibroids or anything showing, after reading hundreds of posts about endo it sounds like the rest of my life is gonna be horrific living like this but I have no clue what else could be wrong

  1. No one have anything like this?

    1. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. We can't give medical advice. But I've had right-side "ovary" pain for years that isn't actually my ovaries or cysts. It's been identified as pelvic floor muscle tension with possible nerve involvement as a trigger point. Muscle tension isn't dangerous, but it can hurt a lot, especially during sex. I've had excision surgery to remove scar tissue near the area, which has definitely helped. But pelvic floor therapy (which I'm starting again soon) has CHANGED MY LIFE. I've made appointments with pelvic floor therapists through my OB-GYN and my urogynecologist. I think it sounds like you'd benefit from an appointment with someone who can diagnose pelvic floor dysfunction, which usually isn't a gynecologist or OB-GYN, it's a physical therapist who works on the pelvic floor. Ask your doctor if they can refer you to someone who can do that. Wishing you well! - Keri (endometriosis.net team member)
