CBD Benefits

Hi All, I just want to ask if someone ever tried using medical cannabis as an alternative medicine? I've been reading some article about medical marijuana and how it can help you in terms of pain management, anxiety disorders and panic attacks, inflammation, even cancer and a lot more. Like this review on a certain strain from http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/platinum-kush/. It has a very high pain suppressing effect. Cbd and thc are also new to me and I don't even smoke. Alternatively, they've also find new ways to infuse cannabis on food and beverages. If this is true I cant find any solid conclusive evidence that speaks to its efficacy. Any personal experience or testimonial would be highly appreciated. Thanks

  1. Hey, Elsa524! Thank you for starting the discussion. I'm hopeful someone in the community will chime in if they have personal experience with medical marijuana. We also encourage you to reach out to your doctor about medical cannabis to find out if it's a treatment option for you! Additionally, we'll speak to our editorial team about providing an article outlining medical marijuana for those interested in reading. Thanks so much for being here with us! We're glad to have you in our community. Warmly, Alesandra (Endometriosis.net Team)

    1. Hey Elsa524!
I have not tried medical marijuana to smoke, but, I have been taking CBD oil. It has a very low trace of THC, so you would not get high from it. Just from taking it though, I have noticed an amazing change in my anxiety. I can honestly say it has not helped my pain from endometriosis completely, but I do see/feel more relief using the oil than any other medications I have tried. It is definitely worth looking into if you have not yet and/or asking your doctor about it! I keep hearing many amazing stories of people using this oil for all sorts of illnesses, aches and pains. So I am excited to dive into it more and see how it continues to help me! Hope this helps a little! -Kimberli (Team Member)

      1. Hey, Elsa524!
Thanks for reaching out. I have taken both CBD and medical marijuana for my endometriosis pain, but it’s a tricky subject depending on where you live, the laws and regulations that are in place etc. The best thing is to speak to your doctor about it. I tried a variety of marijuana that was very light, and very effective at reducing bad period pain. With CBD I find that while it doesn’t completely take the pain away, it does get rid of “the edge” a bit, so it’s less severe. It also helps with my anxiety and the migraines I get before and during my period. I hope this helps. Please get in touch if you have any more questions. - Jessie (team member)

        1. Hey Elsa,
I use medical marijuana and CBD oil for a few different pain conditions. It *truly* has been a game changer - although I do still have pain with my period. But overall, my fatigue and pain level has improved SO SO much. I do find that the medical marijuana is much better and faster acting than the CBD oil, because of the THC. But I've found quite a few strains that are low in THC (but still have it) and don't cause any psychological effects. I think that THC is important because it helps the other CBDs work more effectively? So that's the advantage of the marijuana, in that you are getting something really specific to pain relief and overall inflammation. I personally think that CBD is a good place to start, though. You just need to be careful where you buy it - you want to make sure you are getting a quality product from somewhere that has lab reports to prove contents. Also, because it's still illegal federally, if you buy online your order usually processes through a bank in another country. Hope this helps!

          1. Hi ! Just wanted to take a second to thank you for sharing your experience! And so glad to hear CBD has been a game changer for you. Hoping you are still finding this and that you are doing well, too! Sending hugs. -Kimberli (Team Member)
