Hi everyone I had endo removed about five years ago and haven’t been on contraception since. All has been good. But for the past year when I am on my heaviest day I get sharp shooting pains in my right ovary. Two ultrasounds show nothing. I get pain in this ovary during ovulation too. Could the endo be back even though the ultrasound shows no abnormalities?
Hello @gemini201 you are describing exactly what I am having to deal with at the moment. If the ultrasound shows nothing, it could be endometriosis adhesions, or even scar tissue from past surgeries. The issue with ultrasounds and many imaging tests is that they fail to show adhesions, since these can be located at a deeper level, hidden behind other organs. I spoke to my doctor about this and he recommended a laparoscopy to properly diagnose and deal with the source of my pain. I hope this helps. – Jessie (team member)
